Gregory Testa
Greg Testa advises founders, startups, emerging companies, and technology-driven businesses on the legal issues that matter most when launching, protecting, and scaling a company. His practice focuses on business law, startup and founder matters, contract drafting and negotiation, intellectual property protection, data privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence law. As a certified privacy professional with more than 25 years of prior business and information technology experience, Greg brings a rare combination of legal, technical, and operational insight to help clients build strong legal foundations, reduce risk, and move their businesses forward.
Before becoming an attorney, Greg worked in client- and stakeholder-facing roles across technology, finance, business controls, and compliance, including as an IT consultant for several Big 4 firms and with technology and manufacturing companies. His work included financial system implementations, data privacy assessments, business process controls, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional technology initiatives. That background helps him understand the pressures founders and leadership teams face when building products, managing data, negotiating commercial contracts, protecting technology assets, working with vendors and customers, and preparing for growth.
Greg works with clients to translate complex legal, technical, and business issues into practical, founder-friendly guidance. He understands that startups and growing companies need legal counsel that supports speed, clarity, and commercial momentum—not abstract legal theory. Whether advising on SaaS agreements, software licensing, founder and operating agreements, privacy policies, cybersecurity obligations, AI governance, vendor contracts, customer terms, or IP ownership, Greg focuses on clear, business-minded legal solutions designed to help companies manage risk, preserve value, and scale with confidence.
Greg also clerked for the Consumer Protection Division of the Oregon Department of Justice, where he assisted with investigations involving reported data breaches. He also gained experience with consumer protection issues involving credit collections, warranties, unfair or deceptive business practices, and service contracts. This experience informs his practical approach to data privacy compliance, cybersecurity risk, consumer protection, and responsible technology adoption for companies that collect, use, and commercialize data.
Greg founded his practice to serve as a practical legal partner for entrepreneurs, founders, startups, and growing companies that need sophisticated legal guidance without losing sight of business realities. His goal is to help clients make smart legal decisions early, protect what they are building, and create the contractual, privacy, cybersecurity, IP, and AI governance structures needed to support long-term growth
